Prof. JIANG Huiling Was Elected as Chairman of China Development and Cooperation Mechanism for Commercial Mediation

On January 8^th, 2021, the first meeting of China Development and Cooperation Mechanism for Commercial Mediation was held in Shanghai. And it has unanimously passed the "Framework Agreement of China Development and Cooperation Mechanism for Commercial Mediation".

Mr. CUI Yadong, Chairman of the Shanghai Law Society, Mr. ZHOU Yupeng, former member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and the founding sponsor of the Shanghai Economic and Commercial Affairs Mediation Center, Prof. JIANG Huiling, Dean of the Tongji Law School and Chairman of China Development and Cooperation Mechanism for Commercial Mediation, and Mr. DU Chun, the special consultant of the China Development and Cooperation Mechanism for Commercial Mediation attended the commemorative forum for the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Economic and Commercial Mediation Center and the forum for promoting the development of commercial mediation.

It symbolized the China Development and Cooperation Mechanism for Commercial Mediation was established.

Chairman Prof. JIANG Huiling said that the establishment of China Development and Cooperation Mechanism for Commercial Mediation is a major step forward in the modernization of the social governance system and governance capabilities, which is also a significant mission of China Development and Cooperation Mechanism for Commercial Mediation.

After listening to the report on the preparation of establishing this mechanism, Prof. JIANG Huiling was elected as the chairman of the first management committee. Meanwhile, the meeting decided that Tongji Law School and Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (SCMC) will jointly undertake the secretariat work of this mechanism.

This mechanism will play an important role for China's commercial mediation as an exchange platform, deepening the concept of "Common Consultation, Joint Contribution and Sharing", benchmarking international standards, improving governance capabilities, and jointly promoting the orderly development of commercial mediation. It will also make greater efforts to create a legal, international, as well as market-oriented, business environment.
