Congrats! Tongji Law School Participated in the 2nd Shanghai Commercial Mediation Debate Competition

On November 6, 2022, the preliminary round of the 2nd Commercial Mediation Debate Competition was successfully held at the Shanghai Law Society.

In the competition, debate team of Tongji Law School, led by Prof. Wenhai XU and composed of five students including Yue WU, Mingming LU, Xiangdian CHEN, Yaowen PAN and Yutong ZHAI, took on the pro side in a debate entitled “Is it necessary to enact commercial mediation law in China at this stage?” After a fierce competition, debate team of Tongji Law School won the Outstanding Organization Award and Yue WU was awarded the title of “Outstanding Debater”.

Prof. Huiling JIANG, Dean of Tongji Law School, was invited to be the judge of the final English competition. After the competition, Prof. Huiling JIANG made a comment on the topic of “Do mediation agreements under the Singapore Convention need judicial review by the court?”
