Roundtable Forum on Tongji University and Modern Chinese Legal Education Was Held Successfully

    The law education of Tongji University has a long history. It can be traced back to the law and politics students who transferred from Qingdao Special College in 1914. Later, Tongji Law School was formally established in 1945.

On the occasion of the 114th anniversary of Tongji University, Tongji Law School held a roundtable forum on Tongji University and Modern Chinese Legal Education on May 22^nd.

More than 200 people including Prof.WU Guangming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University, Prof.JIANG Huiling, Dean of Tongji Law School, and representatives of teachers, alumni and students attended the event. The forum was hosted by Prof.XU Gang, deputy dean of Tongji Law School.

Prof.JIANG Xiaowei from Tongji Law School, based on the history of Shanghai legal education serialized in the Shanghai Rule of Law, explained the speciality of Tongji Law School in modern Chinese legal education and its importance in comprehensive universities.

“Four guests have kindly analysized the situation of Tongji University and modern Chinese law education from a historical perspective, and reviewed the long history of Tongji Law School,” said Prof.JIANG Huiling. And he believed that “the profound historical background of Tongji Law School has laid a firm foundation for the development of the college, so that the development of Tongji Law School can be stable and far-reaching!”
