In order to cultivate legal talents with international vision, Law Schools of Tongji University and Heidelberg University have set up the exchange student program since 2015. The main information of this program is as follows:
1. Enrollment
This program enrolls 6 students every year.
2. Application time
The application of this program opens in April and October every year.
3. Expenses
Students shall pay Tongji University tuition only. Students should register and pay relevant registration fees when studying in Heidelberg University Law School. Students should bear their own living expenses such as travel expenses, accommodation fees, social insurance fees, etc.
4. Requirements
DSH 2, a score of 16 or above in TestDaF, a bachelor’s degree in German, or other German competence certificates of the same level.

[America] Loyola Law School of Los Angeles
Law School of Tongji University and Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, seeking to establish and deepen an institutional relationship between two schools, set up this exchange student program.
Primary Objectives:
Both institutions agree that the primary objectives of this MOU include, but are not limited to, the following:
1.1 Faculty: Each school will try to send professors to the other school to give lectures, do research, and give workshops on matters within their academic expertise. On occasion, a professor from the partner university may be invited to teach a class for credit. Each school will provide financial support for their own faculty unless other arrangements are made.
1.2 Students: Tongji will nominate five graduate law students to attend the LLM program at Loyola for one fall semester each year. The credit earned during this semester will be recognized by Tongji. Accepted Tongji students will receive a 50% tuition scholarship from Loyola for one fall semester before graduating from Tongji and another 50% tuition scholarship from Loyola for one fall or spring semester after graduating from Tongji.
Administration of the MOU
2.1 Each institution shall identify a member of its full-time staff as the coordinator responsible for the effective implementation of this MOU.
2.2 This MOU may be amended at any time by written mutual consent through an exchange of letters.
This MOU will be valid for a period of five years. Discussions will take place four years following the signing to renew or extend the MOU. It may be terminated by six-months written notice by either party.

Course Description
- 1 year (2 semester)
- 24 credits curriculum
Introduction to American Law (2 credits, compulsory)
Legal research and writing for Foreign Lawyers (3 credits, compulsory)
Other courses offered in Loyola Law School such as IP Law, Environment Law (19 credits)
Entrance Requirement
- A score of or above 90 in TOEFL; or an overall band score of or above 6.5 in IELTS
- Application Fee: $ 25 (USD)
- Tuition Fee and other Expenses: around $ 44,275 (USD)
