Tongji Law School Won 2nd Prize of the 18th CIETAC Cup
From November 15th to 20th, 2020, the 18th CIETAC Cup, the International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition organised by the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, was successfully held in Beijing. For the first time, the 18th CIETAC Cup has adopted a fully online trial.
In order to prepare for this competition, Tongji Law School has organised a team of 14 graduate and undergraduate students,with supervision by Prof. Zhang Taolue and Prof. Liu Chunyan for detailed guidance. And School of Civil Engineering of Tongji University has offered a lot support. The team captained by Yang Jianyu and Chen Hui, is consisted by Peng Keyi, Zhang Yeyin, Liu Xinyu, Liu Yiling, Wu Chuyao, Wang Yiren, Le Haowen, Qin Yu, Chen Ziyi, Li Chenyue as well as some other students. During the two-month-preparation, the team has tackled the complicated competition question within a tight schedule and has adapted quickly to unexpectedly changed venues. Finally, they won the second prize of the 18th CIETAC Cup, ranking the 11st out of 69 teams.
The CIETAC Cup debate competition has become the most popular arbitration competition in China. And the year of 2020 is the fourth consecutive year that the Tongji Law School team has participated in this competition. Before that, Tongji Law School teams had once won the first prize (ranking the 3rd.), second prize and third prize in the previous three competitions.
