New Year's Speech

As the new year of 2022 is coming, on behalf of all the faculty, staff and students of Tongji Law School, I would like to wish you a happy New Year! Sincere appreciations to all the people from all walks of life and all alumni who care about and support the work of Tongji Law School, and thank you for your selfless help to my work as well!

2021 is the first year of the Tongji Law School's "Three-quarter Century Restart" campaign. The faculty and staff of Tongji Law School and all the students sincerely united, worked together, worked hard, and thus achieved many achievements:

Participated in the Shanghai Xi Jinping's rule of law thought study and practice group, established the Xi Jinping's rule of law thought research center, opened the introduction course of Xi Jinping's rule of law thought, and start a new stage of legal theory research;

Tongji Law School's "14th Five-Year Plan" was officially ratified, providing basic guidelines for the future development of Tongji Law School;

The law major of Tongji Law School was selected as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site;

Completed a number of teaching reform research projects, won a number of teaching competition awards and honorary titles, approved the first-class courses in Shanghai, and established an English-language master's program "Chinese Law and State Governance";

A number of competitions have made great achievements, and Tongji Law School Team won the championship in the 15th International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition in the Mainland China Division;

Hold a series of activities of "Tongji World, Rule of Law Forum" to provide decision-making consultation for the modernization of the national governance system and governance capacity, the revision of the Civil Procedure Law, the equal protection of enterprises, and the reform of the diversified dispute resolution mechanism;

Organized the construction of China's commercial mediation cooperation development mechanism, participated in the establishment of the Shanghai Law Society's Diversified Dispute Resolution and Rule of Law Research Association, and undertook the work of the secretariat of the association;

Carried out social services and social cooperation, established teaching and scientific research cooperation relationships with a number of rule of law institutions, law firms, arbitration committees, and social organizations, selected teachers to preach the rule of law strategy, and provided professional training;

Did a good job in the Sino-German double-degree program in law, to deepen the research on the German rule of law, to carry out research on the Italian judicial system, and to carry out academic exchanges and cooperation with other countries;

2021 is a busy and fulfilling year, but also a year of hard work and joy for Tongji Law School. With everyone's hard work, we have achieved some gratifying results, but we also realized that the construction and development of Tongji Law School is arduous and the success is yet to come.

In 2022, Tongji Law School will redouble its efforts on the basis of the achievements it has already made, and strive to improve its political construction, team construction, talent training, scientific research, foreign cooperation, social responsibility, cultural cultivation and other aspects, to fulfill the responsibility of a higher education institution.

We firmly believe that under the guidance of President XI Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, under the correct leadership of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Municipal and Tongji University Party Committees, and with the joint efforts of all the faculty and staff of Tongji Law School and the majority of alumni, the relevant support With your help, Tongji Law School will surely usher in a better tomorrow!
