On October 12, 2021, the Shanghai Law Society's Multiple Dispute Resolution Research Association for the Study of the Rule of Law held the first general meeting at the Shanghai Law Society. Prof.JIANG Huiling, Dean of Tongji Law School, was elected as the Vice President of the first Shanghai Law Society for the Study of the Rule of Law in Multiple Dispute Resolution, and Assistant Prof.XU Wenhai from Tongji Law School was elected as the Deputy Secretary General.
Vice President JIANG Huiling delivered a speech at the seminar on the Shanghai Regulations on Promoting Multiple Dispute Resolution (the "Regulations"). He suggested that:
i. the concept of dispute resolution shall be comprehensively updated;
ii. it shall be incorporated into the comprehensive reform of the judicial system;
iii. it shall follow the new requirements of promoting the modernization of national governance;
iv. more research on the great potential of the systems of the Regulations shall be required; and
v. it shall establish a set of scientific implementation and supervision mechanism.
His speech was agreed by the audience, most of whom are experts and scholars. This seminar was of great significance to the development of Shanghai's multiple dispute resolution mechanism.
